The sessions in this course outline the objectives and the recommended structure of delivering forests and water key objectives. The course is designed to lead the delegates through the performance criteria which is based on the UK Forestry Standard Guidelines, Forests and water. Delegates will gain an understand of the key principles of forests and landscape to include; water framework directive; pollution control; control of pesticides; groundwater regulations and nitrate vulnerable zones; oil and fuel storage; water supply; flood risk management; waste management; aquatic habitats and species; water quality and buffer areas; acidification; water quantity; guidelines acidification; sediment delivery; nutrient enrichment; pesticides; fuel oils, lubricants and fire-fighting chemicals; water yield and low flows; peak flows and flooding; shade and shelter.
